Record No. 044C Plough Plane

Record No 044C Plough Plane
Record No 044C Plough Plane
as illustrated on the 044C Plough Plane instruction booklet

Having won a British design excellence award, this plane was introduced as an entirely new design that superseded the No. 044 plough plane which was first introduced in 1934. 10 tungsten steel cutters of various widths (7 imperial and 3 metric) came with the plane as standard.

Amongst the new innovations was a “forward projecting” handle made of cellulose acetate, and a depth stop which featured “a nylon expander for positive locking”.

This plane had a relatively short life, having a manufacturing date of around 12 years.

First introduced in a Price List in 1970.
