NOTE: The 04½ SS Smooth Plane was exactly the same as the 04½ except that it had the letters “SS” cast into the lever cap above the screw hole. The box label also had “SS” after the model number.

This plane features end and side adjustment of the cutter. Handles and knobs are of selected rosewood (post-war models are made of beech.)

Lever caps and small screws were nickel plated on early models. All SS (Stay set) models were discontinued in 1965.

First introduced in Catalogue No. 10, published in January 1931.
