Record No 04 1/2C Smooth Plane
Record No. 04½C Smooth Plane
as illustrated in Catalogue No. 15, February 1938

NOTE: The 04½C Smooth Plane was exactly the same as the 04½ except that the sole was corrugated. The box label also had "C" after the model number. Because of the work needed to produce the corrugated base, the plane was sold at a higher price than the 04½.

This plane features end and side adjustment of the cutter. Handles and knobs are of selected rosewood (post-war models are made of beech.)

Lever caps and small screws were nickel plated on early models. The Record No. 04½C Smooth Plane had stopped being offered in catalogues by 1971. All other corrugated models were discontinued by 1993.

First introduced in Catalogue No. 10, published in January 1931.

Please note that the average prices for Record planes have been determined by keeping track of planes sold on eBay, internet auctions, actual real-world auctions, through dealers and various dealer websites. They should only be used as a guide and it should be noted that all prices are dependent on the age, condition, completeness and rarity of a particular plane, as well as the presence, if any, of packaging and associated items, such as brochures, advertising or instructions.
