Record No. 735 Combined Hard & Softboard Plane
In addition to slitting and bevelling of soft insulating board, the 735 Combined Hard & Softboard Plane differed to the 730 Softboard Plane in that it could also cut and bevel hardboard, such as Masonite. For this purpose it used a slightly thicker razor blade type cutter, as well as an attachable fence.
Like the 730, two positions for the cutter were available - a vertical position for slitting and cutting, and a 45 degree angled position for bevelling. A front knob was also fitted for extra stability when working the denser hardboard.
A separate grooving attachment was provided to allow vee grooving of softboard, for decorative purposes.
First introduced in Pocket Catalogue No. 16 in 1955.
