This plane was for very fine and accurate work. The base and sides are accurately machined and ground. It lies quite flat on either side, and can be used both right and left hand.

An improved screw adjustment to the mouth has been embodied in this plane, which gives a wide range of adjustment for either fine or coarse work.

It features a screw adjustment on the cutter for regulating the depth of cut, and is fitted with a tungsten steel cutter.

Packed in a varnished wood box with sliding lid.

Originally a pattern designed and manufactured by Edward Preston & Sons and then introduced into the Record plane lineup. See “Edward Preston & Sons planes which made it into the Record lineup” for more information.
