Record No. 02C-SS Smooth Plane

Record No 02C SS Smooth Plane
Record No. 02C SS Smooth Plane
as illustrated in Catalogue No. 15, February 1938

NOTE: The 02C SS Smooth Plane was exactly the same as the 02 except that it had a corrugated base and the letters “SS” cast into the lever cap above the screw hole. The box label also had “C” and “SS” after the model number. Because of the work needed to produce the corrugated base, the plane was sold at a higher price than the 02.

This plane features end and side adjustment of the cutter. Handles and knobs are of selected rosewood.

Lever caps and small screws are nickel plated. The Record No. 02C-SS Smooth Plane was discontinued in 1943 but remained in catalogues until 1952. All other SS (Stay set) models were discontinued in 1965.

First introduced in Catalogue No. 10, published in January 1931.
