Record No. SP4 Smooth Plane
Economy version of the 04 smooth plane. This plane features end and side adjustment of the cutter, and handles and knobs are of beech (late 1990’s models were made of impact resistant resin, or plastic.) The names “Record” and “Marples” appear on either side of the front knob.
Lever caps were finished in blue enamel. A large brass screw replaced the cam lever in 1995. There is no frog adjustment screw on this plane.
